Dear Friends

Christmas is coming!

I hope you and your dogs enjoy the Intellidogs Advent Calendar.

Each day a new and exciting or fun article will pop up so be sure to open up your day with a peek at what’s in store. We have some great surprises and prizes for you!

Visit every day, add your comments and for those who do, you get the chance to win our fantastic Doggy Advent Hamper which will be drawn by me, Pickles the Dog, on Christmas Day.

Who knows – you could win some delicious chocolate brownies, get a great book from one of our fantastic authors, or even end up on the cover of Dogs Today magazine!

P.S. My letter to Santa starts us off

Dear Santa

I thought I would write you a thank you letter because this year has had a lot of nice things happen and not just at Christmas.

First of all, thank you for my new best friend Bonnie. I missed old Pepper too much. Bonnie was a summer present and a bit of a surprise, but I think you sent her because I know you don’t do dogs for Christmas.

This year I learned to work with some very worried dogs that really didn’t know about playing and fun. I could see they were new to it all so I was very kind to them and let them sniff at me. I stood quite still until they felt better.

I didn’t grow as big as I had hoped but I know how to look after myself thanks to my terrier Mum. Thank you for letting my Dad Dennis come to stay a few times this year. He’s a good Dad even though I don’t see him much.

I have been a good boy. I don’t run out of any door, I always come back when I am called. I know how to walk with Karen and she knows how to walk with me.

I can wave at visitors and children, I can walk backwards and I still love Meg the cat even though she is a bit grumpy.

Most of all thank you for giving me my excellent ears, they prove to Karen that I hear everything she says so she never has to repeat herself.

Competition

Today you could win a fantastic Treat pouch from James Wellbeloved. These are my absolute favourite pouches and are not available in the shops. They are also the ones used by owners of Coco the school dog and Bessie, the visiting dog. Both dogs are registered with Canine Concern. They are the best ones I have ever come across. There is a belt clip, little pockets, they are strong, lined and well stitched and have a metal ring and popper at the top. No more fumbling for treats. In fact I can’t believe I am giving it away…

To have a chance of winning, add your comments below! The author of the comment that we pick at random at the end of day will win this fantastic prize.

Followup comment: The winner has now been Randomly Selected. So, Congratulations Jon Atkinson for winning todays prize. You can still add your comments to be entered in a chance to win a fabulous Christmas Hamper. This prize will be drawn by Pickles the dog on Christmas day.

Good luck and remember to open the Advent calendar tomorrow

P.S. I’m sure people have asked before, but are you any relation to Pickles from Beatrix Potter’s book?

  10. Lovely start to the calendar Pickles. I’m pleased to read you didn’t use the “dog is for life…” slogan, or Karen might have received a legal letter from Dogs Trust hehehe

I hope Santa Paws is good to you this year, it sounds like you are a very good boy.

  22. Libby the one year old retriever here…
I’m very excited about Christmas, and am hoping that my family will remember how much I enjoyed helping open the chocolate Advent calendar last year, though they were very peculiar about it at the time.
I’m afraid I can’t walk backwards like you, Pickles, but I can find other dogs’ toys buried in my garden, and I think that is nearly as good.
and I love the Advent calendar. I think it’s important that my human remembers that Christmas is really for the canines. She’s a vicar, so she seems to have other ideas sometimes…

She’s one of those scaredy dogs that really doesn’t want to be.

I’ve managed to teach her to wave but shes not so good at walkig backwards, makes you a very clever dog.

Hope you have a lovely xmas Pickle pop xx

  31. Ooh Pickles you are a clever dog and sound as though you have a lovely family.

I joined my new family this year after a life of racing, so it’s my first ever Christmas with the humans.

My hu-mum will be showing me the calendar every day – so keep up the good work.

Hope Santa Paws brings you lots of treats.
